Just a reminder that The Trailside will be open Monday, Memorial Day from noon - 7 PM. The outside wall on the deck has been removed for the summer and the entire deck is open to the outside air. We now have Twisted Tea on draft. Hope to see you soon!

The Trailside Restaurant and Pub located along the Great Allegheny Passage Trail in West Newton is now gearing up for the upcoming season. We are hiring servers with experience but will also consider those with little or no experience. You must be available to work nights and weekends and must be 18 years old by your start date. We have both full-time and part-time hours available. We are a high-volume pub and restaurant and a significant financial opportunity exists. Looks like good weather for the Labor Day weekend. The Trailside is open until 10 PM Friday and Saturday (last seating at 9:30), until 8 PM on Sunday (last seating at 7:30) and seating until 7 PM on Labor Day Monday. We are introducing and featuring The Trailside Onion Blossom on Friday and Saturday. Our 2 shot Hurricane is on special for only $5 and we have all our frozen and mixed drinks to go. The Governor's Covid restrictions continue to be in place. Masks are mandatory to enter and move about the building.

Just an update given the new rules from Governor Wolf today. Unfortunately, we will be removing our bar stools at the end of the day but will continue with our deck seating and more limits have been placed on our inside seating. Take out, six packs, growlers and mixed cocktails are still available as before. With our limited seating, we appreciate your understanding that others are waiting. We remind everyone that you must have a mask on to enter the building. Please put your mask on before entering. You may remove your mask when seated but need to put it back on when moving around the building and when exiting. Please help keep our staff and fellow patrons safe. We ask for your cooperation and appreciate that you direct your mask anger elsewhere.

Happy 4th of July weekend. Just a few updates from The Trailside. Our hours this weekend are Friday Noon - 10 PM, Saturday Noon - 8 PM and Sunday Noon to 8 PM. Last seating will be 30 minutes before close. We are not excepting reservations, seating is on a first come first serve basis and is limited to parties of 6. Under the mandate from the Governor, we continue to be at 50% of capacity. Masks are required to enter and navigate through The Trailside. Masks maybe removed when seated at your table. With the sun staying up a little longer, we have new hours. Sunday Noon - 8 PM Monday - Thursday Noon - 9 PM Friday and Saturday Noon 10 PM... Last phone and on-line order 30 minutes before close. Last seating 15 minutes before close. Thanks for all your cooperation with the crazy rules!

Friday June 5th The Trailside will be opening our deck and indoor seating at 50% capacity. We will be following the CDC , PA DOH and LCB guidelines as we have been instructed. The rules are not The Trailside rules but rules we must follow to stay in compliance with our PA Food License and our PA Liquor License. We will do our best to abide by the state guidelines but this is new to us and we ask for your cooperation and patience. Information to help your experience at The ...Trailside be a pleasant one: We will continue to provide take out and on-line ordering and the front of the bar will be reserved for take-out orders only. We will still offer mixed drinks To-Go and Growlers. Seating in the dining room and on the deck are limited and will be available on a first come first serve basis. If rain is threatening, we will need to shut down some deck seating causing deck seats to be even more limited. Your entire party must be present to be seated. We ask for your understanding that seating is limited and others are waiting. As per the LCB Guidelines, only parties of four can be seated, larger parties will need to be split. We cannot move tables or chairs for groups. There are no seats available at the bar and standing at the bar will not be permitted. We will not be taking reservations. If there are no tables available, we will take your name and cell number. As per the guidelines, you cannot gather in front of The Trailside and must wait in your car. When your table is ready, you will receive a text from us. Children must remain in their seats and accompanied to the restroom by an adult. As per the Guidance issued by Governor Tom Wolf for businesses in the restaurant industry, we are to require all customers wear masks while entering, exiting, or otherwise traveling throughout the restaurant. Face coverings may be removed while seated. o Individuals who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition (including children under the age of two years per CDC guidance) are not required to wear masks and are not required to provide documentation of such medical condition. Our hours of operation will continue to be Sunday Thursday Noon 8 PM (Last phone order 7:45) Friday Saturday Noon 9 PM (Last phone order 8:45) Of course, any or all of this can change at any time. Thank you for all of your support over the last few months. We understand that all of us have had enough of the government telling us what do to. No one feels that more than us as we have been staring at an empty deck on warm spring nights. These are the cards we are dealt. Again, we ask your cooperation and patience. Thank you!
