Juneteenth originates on June 19, 1865- the day news of freedom and the abolishment of slavery finally reached those who were enslaved in Galveston, Texas. Today is a day to celebrate- come celebrate at Brandon Park 10:30-5pm!

Don't forget this Saturday is the Juneteenth Celebration at Brandon Park 10:30-5pm. Start the day at 9am at Freedom Road Cemetery with a 1 mile walk to Brandon Park.

National Women’s Health Week (NWHW) is a weeklong health observance led by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health (OWH). The week May 9-15, 2021 serves as a reminder for women and girls, especially during the outbreak of COVID-19, to make their health a priority and take care of themselves. It is extremely important for all women and girls, especially those with underlying health conditions, such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular and respiratory conditions, and women 65 years and older, to take care of your health now.

Transitional Living Centers, Inc. has been fortunate enough to only be mildly impacted by the pandemic. The entire nation has been hit financially, physically, mentally, and emotionally by COVID 19. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have lost a loved one due to this awful virus. Transitional Living Centers works with women who struggle with substance abuse and/or mental health. Our residents have been on lockdown since March 2020 with the exception of employment, medical, and/or treatment. This puts a huge strain on their overall health, therefore TLC staff have been exploring ways to uplift the environment at TLC in safe and creative ways. OnJanuary 22nd we rented the Flyworld Trampoline park for an hour so the women could get out of the house, exercise their physical health, and share in some laughter.
