Afternoon Rains Overtake Tri-City Raceway Park (Franklin, PA June 13, 2021): With the drivers and fans streaming into Tri-City Raceway Park, a late afternoon shower turned into a deluge. The track took too much water in too short of a time and track crews made the difficult decision to cancel the racing events. Come celebrate Father’s Day, June 20, at Tri-City Raceway Park. Sunday Thunder Back at Tri-City Raceway Park (Franklin, PA June 8, 2021): Jack Sodeman, Jr., the defending Shawgo Real Estate LLC Sprint Car champion and the current points leader, was well on his way to his third feature win of the season during last week’s Western PA Speedweek event at Tri-City Raceway Park. The Applefest Race Weekend at the Tri-City Raceway Park continued on Saturday night, with qualifying and preliminary Heat Races for seven different divisions of race cars, in preparation for the big event on Sunday. Applefest Race Weekend Launches at Tri-City Raceway Park (Franklin, PA) The opening night of the "Applefest Race Weekend" at the all new Tri-City Raceway Park welcomed fans with free grandstand admission, to watch race teams from several states practice for Saturday and Sunday's crown-jewel events. In total, 52 race teams capitalized on the opportunity to "test and tune" their machines on the fast, half-mile oval, in preparation for a huge payout of prize money after Sunday...'s feature events. The fastest driver to tour the clay was Shawgo Real Estate Sprint Car driver Gary Kreiss, who averaged over 116 miles-per-hour during a practice lap. The three-day event includes a party following the races Saturday night, with a live performance by Midnight Blue and grand prize drawings Sunday, with a giant fireworks display closing out the weekend Sunday night following the racing action. In addition to the unofficial practice sessions on Friday night, Rick Regalski defeated early race leader Steve Barr to claim the prize money in the Small Block Modified division's "Non-Winners' Race." The race was a special event held for competitors still seeking a first career victory. Fifteen drivers participated in the race. Saturday's agenda kicks off at 4:30pm with Time Trial qualifications for the Shawgo Real Estate Sprint Cars. Seven different types of race cars, in total, will compete in seven separate "Feature Races." On Saturday, the preliminary Heat Races will be contested for all seven divisions of cars. Also on Saturday night, a make-up race for the Shawgo Real Estate Sprint Cars (from August 23rd) will be completed. The party and live band will begin immediately after the racing. Sunday, the "Last Chance" races and the high-paying Feature Races will bring down the curtain on the 2020 racing season. Sunday's program starts at 2:30pm.with fireworks lighting up the skies over Franklin right after the final race. Tickets will be available at the gates on both days.
