A Few Tips for Losing the Weight Okay, so some of these probably come off to most as obvious, but I'll include them anyway for those which they're not. 1. Find your "why" - If you're about to start a weight loss journey, but you're not fully committed or motivated, your chances for overall success are less likely. Identify the reasons for losing weight that resonate most for you and keep reminding yourself of them daily.... 2. Consistency is king - Adopt your plan into your routine and keep plugging away daily. Being a part of your daily routine will lead to greater success down the road after the weight is off. 3. Be prepared - Perhaps the #1 reason why diets fail is due to poor preparation. You know how it goes... come home starving after a long day of work, open the refrigerator, and.... You have nothing ready to eat. Before you know it, you're on your way to WAWA and justifying cheating on your plan "well I have to eat something." Avoid taking a step back by being prepared! Have your meals planned out and fully prepared, removing all the guess work surrounding your meal times. 4. Don't wait for things to be perfect - If you abandon your exercise or diet every time something arises in life, chances are you won't get anywhere. Unexpected events always pop up, so build in a contingency plan for when they do...because they WILL. Have a plan for when the weather stinks or when you have to work double shift. 5. Track it! - "If you aim at nothing, you'll hit it every single time." It may sound tedious, but monitoring your food intake, weight, and exercise keeps you focused on the task at hand, allows you to stay on track, and helps you identify what's working and what's not. It also allows you to make informed adjustments to your plan. To not track would be like trying to pay off debt without checking your account balance or driving your car with the gas gauge covered up. There are plenty of food and fitness tracking apps out there that make really make things easier. Some of these tips overlap each other and most of these can be applied to life and not just dieting/weight loss. I have many more tips, these are just a few.
