A reason to shell-ebrate! Every prosthodontist has their share of unusual patients, but ACP member Dr. Cindy Nichols was recently featured in a news segment on ...WIS TV for her unique case. Dr. Nichols helped the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden by fabricating a prosthetic for a 30-year-old pancake tortoise named Blueberry. Check out how the creativity of this prosthodontist helped solve a potentially life-threatening problem:

UPDATE: Days 3 and 4 of NPAW here at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine have been unbelievable! Yesterday, we were honored to have another wonderful lecture from Dr. Lyndon Cooper. We thank you again Dr. Cooper for joining us- your contribution to #PennPAW2018 has been remarkable. Today, our NPAW committee and our very own Dr. Thomas Evans made rounds to bring NPAW cheer to all Penn Dental students, faculty, and staff with baked goods and smiles. Day 2 of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine's NPAW celebration was a huge success! It was a great honor to have Dr. Lyndon F. Cooper give our #NPAW2018 keynote lecture. No better way to raise awareness for Prosthodontics than to have great minds inspiring the future generations of the specialty! It was an exciting kick-off to NPAW here at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine! We were lucky to have our very own Dr. Nicole Longosz Deakins lecture about the road to becoming a Prosthodontist, followed by a hands-on microscope workshop led by our Prosthodontic residents and Program Director Dr. Evanthia Anadioti. We also got everyone in the spirit by distributing NPAW cookies. What a way to start our favorite week of the year!
