An update on what is happening at our clinic during this unprecedented pandemic event. For the time being, we have made the decision to keep the office open to serve your healthcare needs, but due to the rapid evolution of this situation, there may come a time when we need to close. We will let everyone know as soon as possible about any decisions that will affect the day-to-day operations of our clinic. These next few weeks are crucial in terms of trying to limit the sprea...d of the novel coronavirus, so we have changed a few things at the office in order to minimize your (and our) possible exposure 1. For the moment, we will not be scheduling any new patients. If you are an existing patient, or a new patient that has already scheduled an appointment, this does not affect you. We are hopeful that this will change in the next few weeks, but it all depends on what happens in the larger community. 2. We have implemented a comprehensive, daily cleaning and disinfecting routine beyond our usual cleaning. We are disinfecting and wiping down high-contact surfaces in the office and in the treatment rooms multiple times per day. 3. All patients will be required to wash their hands with soap (better than hand sanitizer) before every treatment. 4. If you are not feeling well, especially if you have a fever, dry cough and/or shortness of breath, please do not come into the office. Call us first so that we can assess the situation and make the appropriate recommendation. 5. If you have recently traveled outside of the region, especially to a country with a CDC travel warning, please let us know. We will likely ask you not to come to the office. 6. If you are not feeling well, or are not comfortable coming into the office, there are other ways we can help. We are willing to do phone or video consults during which we can provide advice on what to do. We can also mail you Chinese herbs or other supplements if appropriate. In the meantime, here are some reminders about how to keep yourself healthy during this time 1. Get your sleep! This is a great way to keep your immune system strong. 2. With the weather getting nicer, get yourself outside and get some sunshine and some vitamin D (just stay away from large crowds!) 3. Stay well hydrated. 4. Don’t forget to breathe! It is easy to get caught up in all of the hysteria happening around us. Use your breath to settle your nervous system with some slow, deep, abdominal breathing. Try a 4 second inhalation, 4 second hold of your breath, and then a 4 second exhalation. Do this for a few minutes and you will definitely feel calmer. 5. Find a way to get in a good laugh. It is great medicine and it actually helps your immune system function better! Stay Healthy and we’ll get through this together. The WellPoint Team
Our good friend Brian Lau will be teaching some remote Tai Chi classes starting tomorrow. Send him your email so that he can register you. Classes are free for now. This is a great way to stay healthy during this time.

We are big fans of these short, high intensity workouts. They give you almost as much benefit as a much longer workout, but they can be done at home in about 10 minutes.

The acupuncture profession in Pennsylvania was blindsided this week by a proposal that would allow chiropractors and physical therpists to become licensed to perform acupuncture with a minimum of training (400 hours compared to our over 2000 hours). Please sign this petition that states that we are against this propopsed regulation. Thank you for your support.
