Tuesday Tip: Cigarette butts flicked to the side of the road or on sidewalks is litter. Not only is this ugly, it is harmful for animals. Easy solution: carry a pocket ashtray and/or use a car ashtray.
A BIG THANKS goes out to two Eagle Scouts, Elizabeth and Hannah Yothers, for working with Cleanways on their Eagle Scout projects. The Recycling Center is open one Saturday a month... this Saturday, Dec. 12 from 8:30-Noon.
Drop off of live Christmas trees for recycling is available this Saturday at Schramm Farms & Orchards and in Murrysville through the Murrysville/Export Rotary. Click the link for details and/or a complete list of drop off sites in the County.
Wish Cycler Wednesday: Finally, after spending what felt like hours unknotting the Christmas lights, you realize they don't work. After you stop swearing, consider disposal options- Christmas lights can be recycled at Westmoreland Cleanways Recycling Center. If that is not an option, put the lights in the trash can. (Do NOT recycle Christmas lights in a regular, curbside recycling bin)
Tuesday Tip: This time of year, many drivers are getting new tires in preparation for winter driving. Keep in mind, tires can't be picked up by the garbage man, and if left outside become a perfect home for vermin and mosquito eggs. Instead, properly disposal of the tires at our Recycling Center or at other tire disposal sites.
