THIS JUST IN: The weather is going to be a doozy tomorrow, so Wissahickon will be closed again for ANOTHER SNOW DAY on Tuesday Feb 2nd. A few notes: 1. All classes are cancelled, but teachers will be assigning work on SeeSaw and Google Classroom so be sure to log in and check your assignments!... 2. The Fernhill Black History Month Assembly will now be held on Wednesday morning. 3. The Vaccine Talk will still happen tomorrow night on Zoom. Oh, and Happy Groundhog Day!

Wissahickon will be closed tomorrow, Monday Feb 1st, for a Snow Day. There will be no remote instruction and our buildings will also be closed. Meal distribution is being rescheduled for Wednesday, February 3rd. Share your favorite snow day recipes, crafts, books, or other fun activities in the comments!

Hester, a student at Wissahickon Charter School at the Awbury Campus, said as he grows up, he’s become more aware of problems in the city and racism in particular. Music has been his primary means of expression but after a year of protest and a pandemic that kept him at home, away from friends and his school, he wants to take his ideas directly to people in a position to make change. ‘It all needs to be rebuilt,’ he said of the systems that govern Philadelphia...Hester and h...is sister, Makayla Coleman,15, see themselves as necessary players in the city’s future and present.
