Let's offer a big "thank you" to York County Department of Parks & Recreation for their crew's current work to trim trees that are beginning to overhang along the Heritage Rail Trail. Tree trimming limits damage to the wooden railing fence from fallen branches and increases visitor visibility particularly near road crossings. July is National Parks & Recreation month. Time to say "Great job York County Parks!"

Many thanks to the Penn State Master Gardeners, whose hard work has created these beautiful gardens at Hanover Junction Train Station along the Heritage Rail Trail - now a perfect setting to capture graduation memories. And congrats to the Class of 2021! ...proving that the Heritage Rai Trail is so much more than a bicycle path. It makes memories!

Brrrr...it's too cold to meet outside! So York County Rail Trail Authority monthly business meetings have moved indoors for the winter. All COVID protocols will be followed including social distancing and the wearing of masks. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM. January-May 2021 meetings will be held at Nixon County Park Nature Center. Complete 2021 meeting schedule is available at our website www.yorkcountytrails.org. Public welcome.

Rail trail folks will celebrate anything...even the long awaited closing of the port-a-potty at Hanover Junction Station! Full restrooms are once again open! Please help conserve the station's precious well water when using the restrooms, and this port-a-potty may stay closed. Thanks to York County Parks for their diligence to get water running again!
