I said to my soul, be still, and wait. So the darkness shall be light, and the stillness the dancing. - T.S. Elliot

Happy International Women's Day!

Yoga & Ayurveda Center 29.10.2020

Meet Lindsey Bellini... Lindsey has been studying with us for over a year and has almost completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training. "Sometimes it will come up in conversation and curiously I'll ask..."have you ever done yoga?" "Would you ever be interested in trying a class?" All too often the response is, "I can't even touch my toes! Or "I won't be any good at it." It seems that what so many people fail to realize is that you don't have to be good at yoga to do it a...nd enjoy it. We live in a culture that is so focused on competition, winning and being the best. If you have never taken a yoga class or would like to at some point but are a bit hesitant, just remember this, yoga is not about competition, winning or being the best. There are no awards, trophies or gold medals. And that to me is the beauty of it all! Yoga is about being. It doesn't matter what you can or can't do. Be here now because presence matters. This is the message I want students to take from my classes. Get to know yourself. Get to know your body, treat it as a temple. Our bodies have so much to teach us if we are patient and just listen. Remember, the best and most important relationship you have in life is the one you have with yourself. For me, my yoga journey actually began when I was a teenager. I had no idea what to expect, but was instantly hooked! With a background in gymnastics, I loved the balance, flexibility, grace and strength yoga offered me. However, yoga has so much more to offer us, the balance, flexibly, grace and strength are not only physical, but mental as well. Beyond my mat, I love spending time in nature with my dogs, the trees, streams, flowers and beauty. No matter the season, (I love them all by the way!) there is always something beautiful for us to take in and keep centered and grounded. I also enjoy being out on lakes, paddle boarding with my pug and I've even started doing SUP yoga!! "Wherever you go, there you are."'
