Jay stops by to see our dear friend Amy Mayes and help her step up her lead banjo game.

Our 12-year-old guitar student expands her knowledge of the blues by playing a solo in the context of a larger performance. She uses much more of the guitar's range than last week, and she is responsive to the song's structure. Also notable is the restraint the student shows during Audrey's solo; it is important for musicians to be aware of their role in the larger ensemble and know when to create space for other soloists. It is especially crucial to provide space for bass solos.
