The Martial Arts is not about kicking and punching, it never was. The martial arts is about growing as a person. Today we covered our Role Model Assignment. Sensei Gerry is teaching the children what defines a good role model. Come check us out! https://sparkpages.io/?i=3ji

Feeling Frustrated? Covid19, quarantines, working from home, schooling on Zoom, money concerns, health concerns, business closings and isolation has left everyone being frustrated!! Dealing with these issues can leave us feeling overwhelmed and stressed! But all too often we tend to try and bury these stressful feelings and simply try to work through it but that’s not really compatible with maintaining good mental and physical health. We all have heard that STRESS is one... of the leading factors in poor health and this pandemic has put everyone under a tremendous amount of pressure. But, if so many of us know how important stress reduction is, why do we keep doing what got us here? Maybe pushing through it is the American way, but Americans are dying in high numbers from poor mental and physical health. Now adding to all the stress, Doctors and Scientists are telling us that these very same underlying poor health issues such as not exercising, making poor food choices and living a sedimentary lifestyle makes you more likely to get seriously ill from Covid19 if you were to catch the virus. So what can you do about it? Start by understanding that balance is the key. We need to workout both our bodies and our minds. Look at it this way, we all know that apples are good for us but if we were to eat too many apples we would end up with some very unpleasant side effects like gas and diarrhea. Too much of anything is never good. If you focus all your energy on improving your physical fitness you may look good but if you are struggling with mental un-fitness you will not find the peace you are seeking. So when seeking balance, if you are not able to find one activity that meets every one of your needs then find several activities that will. Physical stress and mental stress are different and both need to be reduced for good overall health. Tomorrow we will cover 3 skills to feeling young again to reduce stress and frustration.

Today we dropped the toys at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House just in time for the Christmas Holiday. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped with our charity projects these last few months. We would not have been able to reach out and make a difference if it wasn't for you. #teamworkmakesthedreamwork Wishing you and your family a happy holiday season and an outstanding new year.

When in times of trouble or uncertainty, why is it that people turn to the martial arts? Could it be the comfort that we get in knowing that martial arts training has been around for centuries and helped people overcome all kinds of hardships? Maybe it’s that feeling of simpler times when the world seemed to move a little slower and people took the time to get to know each other. A time for meeting like-minded people who enjoy learning new things and can laugh about it toget...her. It might also be the culture of respect and acceptance, welcoming families and neighbors of all kinds. If we have learned anything from this past year, and we should have learned many things, is that your health and fitness can no longer be put off for some time in the future. We need to improve our health today! When it comes to improving your health, training in the martial arts is unique in that focuses on the entire body. We help heal the mind, the body and the spirit! It starts with one simple equation: working out + learning + hitting targets + earning belts = a well-balanced, calm, stress free individual who can feel free to enjoy a confident and goal oriented life. The key is the learning! All workouts can benefit you unless you lose interest and stop working out or you dwell on your problems with every step you take and end up even more stressed! Learning the martial arts will allow you to take a break from you!!! Imagine how freeing it will feel when you turn off the past and live in the moment while developing new skills that open your mind to new challenges for the future! Now I am sure that not ALL martial arts schools can do this but at East West Karate it has been part of our culture for over 30 years! We have thousands of success stories and we would love to share them with you. More importantly, we would like for you to become one! If you think martial arts training is for you then please check out any one of our schools located throughout Bucks County for a free trial program. We will welcome you with open arms spaced 6 feet apart and wearing a mask. It won’t be long before things return to normal and Covid19 is just a sad memory but if normal for you has been an unhealthy lifestyle then take the first step and reach out to us and experience first-hand the East West Karate experience. https://www.eastwestkarateandfitness.com//kids-martial-arts

A throwback to when covid first started... With Black Belt Cycle ready to earn their belts after 4+ years of prep and 3 hard months of extra training. We not only lost our venue but had to change testing around completely all at the last minute. If there is a will there is a way. It didn't stop these amazing people from accomplishing their goal and it will not stop us tomorrow for belt testing. ... Congrats again Black Belts way to lead the way for the next group.

Check out this cool artwork given to me by a student!! Not only is it about the dojo but it is handmade by a local artist. Thank you Jennifer Allen Donsky I can't wait to add this to my collection of East West Artwork. Beautiful Frustrations nail and string art this is so incredibly awesome! I had not really seen anything like this before and love that it is original to the dojo. I love the work and will be hanging it up for all our students to see.
