Ryan had a kidney transplant at Children’s Hospital a few months ago and his parents, Patrick & Eunok, made the decision to stay at Family House. They decided to make signs to greet Ryan at his home away from home for when he was released from the hospital. Ryan, pictured with his brother Jason, and his parents, are all headed home to start the New Year off in good spirits. We wish Ryan & his family, and all of you a safe, healthy, and happy new year!

Susan Iversen was stressed and tired, and needed to find a place to stay that would be safe and clean for her daughter, Sam, while she recovered from her transplant surgery. Knowing that Family House stayed open while other options were closed, reassured Susan that it was the best place for her family. The staff at Family House was phenomenal, greeting Sam and me each day, continuously cleaning the houses to keep us all safe. It was more than a need for a clean place to st...ay, it was crucial during Sam’s recovery. Susan couldn’t trust another place to be mindful of Sam’s compromised immune system, as she was recovering from a bowel transplant. Having that peace of mind, eased Susan and Sam’s anxiety and allowed them both to focus on Sam’s healing. Sam and Susan will need to return to Pittsburgh for follow-ups, but do so with a sense of joy and comfort, being able to reconnect with their mini-family. Help us continue to provide a clean and safe environment to those who need it now more than ever. Donate today. https://familyhouse.org/support/ See more
