This past Saturday we had the privilege of being part of the Break the Stigma; Bring the Hope event in McPherson Park in Kensington. We joined The Peggie & Paul Shevlin Family Foundation and S.O.N (Save Our Neighborhood) along with dozens of other groups to bring hope and healing to the people of Kensington suffering from addiction and experiencing homelessness. It was a wonderful event. #homelessnessawareness #addictionawareness

February sure went fast over here! What a wonderful month at Saint John’s Hospice. The new beautiful dining room has officially opened to our day service clients and how grateful and happy they all are to be back in this new and improved space. Thank you to all who’ve helped make this happen! We are forever grateful to our generous donors, staff and volunteers.
So grateful for this project and Owens generosity!

#GivingTuesday is HERE! For the next 24 hours, we encourage you to give where your heart is and be a part of #iGiveCatholic! We pray you will consider making a gift to Saint John’s today to support our men in need by helping us to provide dignity, respect, nourishment, and opportunities for new beginnings. Happy Administrative Professionals Day to Anne Marie! We are so grateful for all you do and your presence at Saint John’s. Your love and care for each of the men we serve and everyone you encounter is such a gift.
While our lunch service looks a little different these days the needs of the men we serve remain. With your financial support we can continue to provide over 1200 lunches weekly! Thank you for making us a part of your Giving Tuesday donations. https://philadelphia.igivecatholic.org/donate #GivingTuesday #givingtuesday2020 #iGiveCatholic

There is a crisis of hunger in our city, and Philadelphians are stepping up to help. Saint John's Hospice is proud to be solving an urgent problem with Broad Street Ministry, Prevention Point Philadelphia, Project HOME, and the City of Philadelphia: feeding and caring for people experiencing food insecurity and homelessness during the pandemic. From April 13th to May 29th, Saint John's will be receiving over 400... pre-packaged meals per day purchased from Tootsie's Hot and Cold Buffet and donated from Wawa via the Step Up to the Plate initiative. Please remember to support the businesses who support us, and thank you for helping us serve all those who come to us in need during these difficult times! #stepuptotheplatephl #PhillyStepsUp Project HOME Broad Street Ministry Prevention Point Philadelphia City of Philadelphia Government Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia
Thank you all who support Saint John's Hospice's mission of providing life-sustaining services to people experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. As a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the closing of another shelter in our neighborhood, we need your help more than ever. Please make a gift today to help us provide expanded services at this critical time. The number of people who need our help has greatly increased:... - Daily public lunch average has increased from 220 people per day to 320 people per day (this number continue to rise) - Monday, Wednesday, Friday dinner has increased from 30 people per night to 80 people per night (123 people on Wednesday, 3/25) Saint John's has set a goal of raising $30,000 over the next week to help us met our increased operating costs for the month of April as the number of people in need rises. Our Development Council and Friends of Saint John's Hospice have pledged to match the first $15,000 raised. Please make a gift today to help us reach our goal of $30,000 by Friday, April 3rd. Every dollar you give will be doubled by the match! Donate here: http://saintjohnshospice.org/donate-3/ Thank you so much for your generosity and support! #community #support #homelessness #volunteering #charity #give #givingback

As the situation continues to evolve, we are urging volunteers and visitors to stay home until further notice.
