Register today for The Baum School of Art’s 10 Week Winter Session! Classes will begin the week of January 18th and will run through March 27th. Children and teens ages 5-17 can enjoy a wide variety of classes from Drawing and Painting, to Manga, Comics, and Cartooning, to Digital Animation and more! All skill levels are invited to come and create with us. Our COVID-19 mitigation plans currently include incorporating reduced class sizes, socially distanced studio design, mandatory mask wearing, enhanced cleaning and sanitization and more. "Autumn Road" by Melville F. Stark Mel Stark was a Baum School instructor beginning in 1933. Not only was he an instructor, but we was an incredible pastelist, oil, and watercolor painter. The Baum School has many paintings of his in our Circulating Picture Club and an occasional painting or two in our Annual Art Auction!

Day 20's theme for Americans for the Arts #ShowYourArt2020 is repurposed art. We are excited to include a handful of new artists and artisans to our Holiday Pop Up Shop! One artisan, Yuko Doren, creates beautiful, upcycled pieces out of vintage Japanese kimonos and obi belts! There are so many fun projects happening in instructor Mellen Reinbold's 12-17 Drawing & Painting class tonight!

Support our sessions. Support our students. Support our Baum School. Since re-opening in July for limited in-person art camps, we have experienced a whirlwind of new beginnings. We have redesigned our studios following CDC and PA guidelines in order to create safe, socially distant classrooms. This, in turn, has significantly reduced our class sizes. We are proud of the precautions that we have implemented while taking a measured and careful approach to reopening. However, s...maller class sizes limit our earned income capabilities, while our expenses have increased in order to make our facility safer. This year, we are asking you to support our class sessions. Your help will allow us to focus on our missionenriching lives through arts education. You will be helping to supplement the revenue lost from our limited class sizes and helping to ensure that we can continue to provide scholarships and financial aid to those in need. The pandemic has helped to shine a spotlight on how vital the arts are to a healthy community, and how important The Baum School of Art is in fulfilling that need.
