The Borough received notice today of a unique opportunity available to our residents served by West Penn Power or Met-Ed. Check it out! Words from First Energy: The Power Systems Institute (PSI), a FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE) award-winning program to train the next generation of dedicated line and substation workers, is awarding up to 50 scholarships in 2021 to underrepresented candidates who reside in the company's service area in support of the company's diversity and in...clusion (D&I) efforts. The scholarships are the first offered under the FirstEnergy PSI Equal Access Scholarship Program, a D&I initiative encouraging men and women from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds to pursue learning a skilled craft in the PSI program. The Borough was asked by the Fairfield Fire Company to request our citizens to please refrain from open burning due to the windy conditions and lack of substantial rain increasing the potential for brush fires.

The public is encouraged to conduct business with any staff member electronically or by phone, contact information is available at www.carrollvalley.org Any payments or document submittals should be dropped in the silver box on the front porch of the Municipal Building, and it will be checked dai...ly. It has come to our attention that there will be a Breakfast with Santa and Sensitive Santa event hosted in the Fairfield Community this weekend. While we are unsure of the details, we felt it was important to issue a statement to the community clarifying this event is NOT a Carroll Valley Borough, Carroll Valley Parks & Recreation or Fairfield Fire Company sponsored event. We take great pride in providing these events for our community and explored multiple opportunities to host a safe event this year but were unable to coordinate an event that would keep our residents safe, including mask wearing, social distancing, managing attendance size and appropriate sanitation efforts. Your safety is our priority and we wish you a safe and happy holiday season.
