To many people, this is just an eye sore in the community that has been abandon and left to crumble. To me, my hockey friends, and especially Tanner, this is wh...at we call home. Back in its glory we’d skip school and play here all day and all night. Hours upon hours in the freezing cold just to play the game we loved so much and to be around the people we came so close with we now call family. Overtime it has been neglected and has been unusable. I’ve kicked around the idea of putting in the time to restore it but with the loss of Tanner I am fully committing. I know he would’ve done anything to play one more game here with the boys, I would do the same. Tanner has impacted so many in the places he called home, wether is was in Mountaintop or on the ice. I will do whatever it takes to get this place where it needs to be in memory of him and another person loved by so many, Brian Madry. I under estimated the size of the ice rink because Tanner always used to fill it so easily with such positive energy. With it being such a large task at hand and being I can only do so much myself I am asking for help in taking this on. I had a productive meeting with a Township Supervisor today about the restoration of the place where I have made so many memories. They are supportive of the idea but seem skeptical in getting it done in the timeframe I am hoping for. I feel it is possible to at least be prepped so when weather permits, it can be flooded. Upon completion of the rink restoration, I would like to host a Madry-Kahlau memorial game, with all of our close friends and family just like they would have wanted. I know they would be honored to have this done in their name. Please share so we can hopefully gain support for this. We love you guys, and I will be sure to get this done for you two, every game played here will be in memory of you. See more
