Last October, York Traditions Bank celebrated their 18th Anniversary by donating $1,000 a day to local nonprofits, an extension of the bank's support throughout the year to hundreds of York's vital organizations. York Traditions Bank honored Ophelia Chambliss, a local artist, muralist, designer, and lecturer. Chambliss's work prompts tough conversations while commemorating humanity and diversity. York Traditions Bank and Cultural Alliance of York County funded part two of Op...helia's latest project, "Contiguous", which features continuous line drawings painted into portraits of 60 members of York's community. An early exhibit was displayed in York Traditions Bank's Downtown York, PA branch last November and the full exhibit will be available at Marketview Arts in April of 2021. The York Revolution's annual frozen event, FestivICE will be kicking off in just one week, and this year's FREE family-friendly event is bigger and better than ever while keeping visitor's safety a priority. For the safety of the community the event will take place over one week (January 13-19) to avoid specific gathering times. Ice displays will be spread out over a larger area. Interactive sculptures will be limited on the one-way route, and masking/distancing will be required. Thanks to the York County Economic Alliance, FestivICE 2021 will be bigger and better than ever and is expanding to the York County Heritage Rail Trail. Sculptures will be placed at the start of the trail in Downtown York, PA and along the trail in Seven Valleys, Glen Rock, Railroad, and New Freedom.

HIVE artspace wants to see your hearts! Beginning January 1, HIVE artspace will be accepting submissions of all mediums for their February exhibit featuring hearts: be it happy or heartbroken, realistic, fantastical, sacred, anatomical, mended, mechanical, or en memento mori. There is no fee to submit artwork for consideration. Submissions must be in by midnight on January 15. The exhibit will run at HIVE artspace February 5 - 27, with a Virtual Opening Reception on First Friday February 7, from 5-8pm.

On New Year's Eve, Hamir's Indian Fusion had its busiest night since opening three years ago in Downtown York, PA. As of yesterday, January 4, Hamir's Indian Fusion like other restaurants that have self-certified, will be permitted for indoor dining at 50% capacity. Hamir Patel, owner of Hamir's Indian Fusion said in the interview with WGAL News Channel 8 Susquehanna Valley, Pa., "It's here and we do whatever is required by law. You have to comply with rules and regulations. It's for the safety of everyone. We will reorganize the dining area. Clean and disinfect everything. All the plates, bowls, everything we need for indoor dining will be cleaned up again."
