Jackie says she heard that onion seed is not viable after two years. She took organic onion seed from Territorial Seed, a hybrid onion, Cortland, F1, put the seeds in a damp paper towel in a plastic bag on top of her refrigerator on Tuesday. After three days she had 20 to 30% germination. Not too bad for three year old onion seed. Yay for experimentation and organic, hybrid seed!

Last 50 lb of carrots from our garden. The critters are causing to much damage to leave them in the ground.

The garden has supported food distribution sites in eastern Snyder County with donations of fresh produce. While we may not have fresh produce to donate, we can always donate our time. Consider volunteering.
