***UPDATE*** THE BIKES HAVE BEEN RETURNED. Have you seen these bikes? They were taken from 151 Germania Street on or about Wednesday March 24th, 2021. One bike is a bright green mongoose with front and back pegs and a skull on the seat, the other is a light blue unknown make mountain bike. The Galeton Borough Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at 241 West Main Street. It is believed that either Wednesday March 17th or Thursday March 18th, someone attempted to access the pool shed on the property by forcible entry. On 01/15/2021 at approximately 8:38 PM Galeton PD was dispatched to the area of Germania Street for a shots fired call. Officers arrived on scene at approximately 8:41 PM, PSP Coudersport and Gaines PD arrived shortly thereafter. The victim, a 36-year-old male, was discovered in the area. The victim sustained a self-inflicted fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was originally from Coudersport who recently moved to Galeton. No other individuals... were injured during this incident. No other information will be provided at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
