On Wednesday, January 27, the Westmoreland Housing Alliance Team will be conducting the annual Homeless Point-in-Time Count in our Community. We are asking for ...3 things: 1) Share your knowledge. If you are aware of locations in Westmoreland County where you frequently see people sleeping on the streets, in tents, or other places not meant for habitation, can you please let us know? 2) Spread the word (Flyer Attached) 3) Volunteer to be a part of the count. (Flyer Attached) From 5pm-8pm on the 27th our volunteers will be posted at sites throughout the County to help with walk-ins. At these sites, we will engage to with anyone who shows up to connect them with resources, including connection to emergency shelter, if desired, and will conduct a homelessness survey to capture data that informs the State and Federal governments on the needs in our communities. Volunteers will also go out into the community to explore specific, identified sites to offer the same to those who are unable to make it to one of the drop-in sites. See more
