My campaign for Congress ended last Tuesday. But our work together to build an America for all of us must continue. Two years ago, I was among the 300 neighbors who attended the very first mass meeting of Lancaster Stands Up, just days after the 2016 election. In that troubled moment, we turned to each other. We didn’t know exactly what we would do next, but we committed to figure it out together. Now that our campaign for Congress is over, we need to figure out what comes ne...xt, together just like we did two years ago. People-powered organizations like Lancaster Stands Up are one of the ways we exercise our political muscle, and how we grow stronger and make progress over time. I’m asking you to be part of it. Lancaster Stands Up is you and me. It’s everyday working people standing up together, getting ourselves organized into a force for political change, and digging in for the long haul. I never expected to see my name on a ballot, but this morning I walked into Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School with my husband and two daughters and cast my vote for Jess King. Today I am once again reminded that this election is not about me - it’s about us. We have a choice between the politics of hope, and the politics of fear. Between a representative beholden to special interests, or a representative who works for us and our families. Between an America for the wea...lthy and well-connected, or an America for all of us. Pundits never thought this election could be competitive. But here we are - in a real race, because of the work thousands of volunteers and supporters have done. Now, we have less than 11 hours to go. So here’s one final ask: Vote today to build an America for all of us. And tell your friends and family to vote, too. Thank you for your support.
