If you’ve ever tried singing while playing the guitar, you’ll be able to appreciate how challenging this is. The song that Nicole chose to perform in her 4th grade talent show, moves through several different rhythms, and has some very quick chord changes. She did this all in front of hundreds of her classmates and teachers. This is no small accomplishment!

Need guitar lessons? Can’t make it to the studio? You are looking at me teaching a guitar lesson in Djibouti, Africa! I just started another student this week who lives in Belize. There are several others who connect via webcam in other states. Even though students ARE now allowed back in the studio, I will continue to offer webcam lessons as an option moving forward. I've written a few songs for my wife over the years and uploaded them to YouTube. Everytime my oldest boy watches one of the song videos he gets really emotional. The last time this happened, I was holding him on the couch after he had melted into a puddle of tears. I had to smile when he made me promise "not to let him listen to it again." A week before we went on lockdown, Joseph told me he wanted to learn this song and play it for his Mom on Mother's Day. Even with the added element learning how to navigate webcam lessons we were able to get it done. Fantastic job!

One thing that a student often looks forward to when starting guitar lessons with me, is the day they get to use the recording studio for the first time. For Nicole, that day came a few weeks ago. After lots of practice and hard work in front of a microphone, the audio track turned out great! To show it off we made this video. She did a fantastic job
