April is Autism Awareness Month and today is Autism Awareness Day! In honor of this day, we have things you can do for Autism Awareness Month: 1. Be there to listen:... Show your support and compassion for other families by being there to listen to the joys and difficulties of having a child with autism. Showing you want to learn more can help a family feel more connected to their community. 2. Contribute to awareness online, through social media posts. Make sure to use hashtags such as #LIUB (Light It Up Blue) and #WorldAutismDay. 3. HAPPY DAY IN THE LIFE! We are so happy that our entire Corps was able to get together today to celebrate Jumpstart Philly’s annual event. Every year, we get together at the end of the semester as a corps so that we can show one another what our day in the life looks like for us and our teams. And, last but certainly not least, here is Miss. Nalani from our workforce team! Miss. Nalani is a Team Leader like everyone else we have met, but is apart of our new Workforce Development Program. The WFD program is a program to engage Jumpstart members and teachers in Early Childhood Education to support members entering the ECE field and support teachers in their continued professions development. Shoutout to Miss. Nalani for being the first TL in the Workforce program!
