Yesterday I made the sad journey to say goodbye to a dear friend. Most any of you who have been to the shop have probably had the privilege of meeting this great man. Tom, you could be so very colorful at times, and there were times you tested me to the very ends of my patience with your endless trades and deals. But no matter any of those things, at the end of the day, I have had very few friends as loyal and caring as you. I can’t count the hundreds of days you would bring ...me lunch, just because you knew I wouldn’t bother to eat otherwise. And it seemed like every time I had a craving, you somehow knew to show up with Shady Maple doughnuts! I will never forget all of the stories we’ve shared over the years.. the hunting adventures, the crazy antics from days gone by in Philly.. I would listen to them over and over a thousand more times if given the chance. Tom Hartzell, you are going to be missed by so very many people. Most any of you who have been to the shop have probably had the privilege of meeting this dear man. He loved shooting and hunting more than most anyone I know. So the next time you are in the field, or at the range, please; just pause for a second, think about Tom, and make a good shot in his honor. Thank you! CJ See more
