Dear Students: As we come to the end of the fall semester and you continue the pursuit of your education, I want to share some important information with you as... you complete your coursework and prepare for the spring semester. As you know, I recently made the decision to transition all instruction and support services to remote and online. This decision was based on the increasing number of cases of COVID-19 in our region, as the health and safety of our College community must be our priority. Due to these challenging times, we have continued the modification of our grading policy which was implemented during the spring semester. These changes include the extension of the withdrawal (W) deadline, the option of choosing a passing (P) grade, and the flexibility of the Incomplete (I) grade. The College plans to offer both remote and in-person instruction this spring. We also have delayed the start of the spring semester to Monday, January 25 to give students more time to select their preferred method of delivery. Class listings are posted online and you can register now for courses for the upcoming semester. We encourage students to register for spring classes as soon as possible, so our faculty can develop their academic delivery plans to best serve our students. More details about grading, registration, and other important information can be found on the College’s website at www.luzerne.edu/covidinfo. Please feel free to contact me at 570-740-0344 with any questions or concerns and I will assist you in any way I can. The LCCC Faculty, Staff, and Administration remain committed to providing you the necessary support for you to achieve your goals. I want to thank you again for your perseverance during this difficult time. Stay safe and healthy and I hope to see you again soon! Sincerely, Thomas P. Leary President
