This Sunday Santa Claus is coming to town! Santa’s elves have asked us to escort him around the township on our fire trucks. We will be departing our station around 1pm, and running until dark. This Sunday, Santa will be visiting anyone South West of the turnpike and a few roads he didn't get to visit last Sunday. If you hear Christmas music, and our sirens come outside for an early Christmas treat!! PS: If Lower Milford Fire Company has an emergency call during Santa’s rounds, we will try to get back to our route when the call is over. -Lower Milford Volunteer Fire Company #1

Yesterday, on Thanksgiving, Lower Milfords volunteers were pulled away from their families twice. The first time was for an accident with rollover and the second time being for a residential fire alarm activation(from a burnt turkey). We appreciate East Greenville Station 38 for responding with us to both calls!

Cub Scout pack 364 visited the 13 House this past Thursday. These lucky kiddos got to learn how a volunteer firefighting department operates along with having the opportunity to simulate being firefighters.

If you recall from a few weeks ago, our members visited Station 27 and reviewed their rescue truck. This was a perfect example of why knowing the layout of another departments rig matters Yesterday, when on a traffic-control call, Station 13 was called into Upper Saucon Township with Station 27 for a motor vehicle accident with rescue. County advised Engine 1311 that one person was heavily trapped and that one of the cars was on fire. E1311 arrived on scene first and found plenty of steam but not fire. Knowing where rescue tools were located on Rescue 2741 greatly shortened the time it took crews to extricate the patient.

Sunday around 22:30 hours, Station 13 was dispatched to Kings Highway and Manor Way for an MVA with rescue. 1303, 1311,1321, and 1352 along with East Greenville Fire Department Engine 38 and Squad 38 responded to the scene and found a pick up truck fire that was starting to catch the woods on fire. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fires and went available shortly after.

For training last evening, we focused on vehicle rescue using our sidewinder jacks, new Combi tool, cribbing, Rhino glass cutter, and an "O" cutter. Training with all of these tools will better our skills and let us better serve the community.

For last night's training, Station 13’s fire team simulated working on a garage fire. Garages, sheds, and barns create unique challenges for firefighters. Instead of navigating hallways and living rooms, we have to climb around and over all types of equipment to get to the seat of the fire. Station 13’s crews simulate emergencies as close to real situations as we can so as to be best prepared to handle your real life emergencies. At the end of the day, we are just neighbors helping neighbors. #13Engine

Last Thursday at 1508hrs, Station 13’s volunteers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Limeport Pike for an EMS assist. S1352 responded to find an ambulance stuck on a shared driveway in a snow bank attempting to make contact with an elderly fall victim. Lt1305 took command of the incident and ordered for another ambulance. Eastern Salisbury Fire Dept overheard the incident and offered their ex-military 5-ton brush truck 20-62 to respond. This ended up being exactly what we n...eeded to get the job done. After transporting the patient in stable condition, Salisbury’s crew stayed behind to help recover the stuck ambulance. A special thanks to Borough of Emmaus Ambulance Corps, Borough of Emmaus Fire Department, Macungie Ambulance Corps, and a big thank-you to Eastern Salisbury’s volunteers for monitoring the radio and offering their much-needed help.
