First Grade at Bower Hill held their annual Fiesta Day today! Students made masks, painted their own Mexican snakes and pottery and even had a special chips and salsa snack break today! Many thanks to our first grade team for organizing the event today!
For Monday, February 1, 2021, Peters Township Schools will now be CLOSED for in-person instruction due to continued icy road conditions. All students (remote and in-person) will attend school remotely today following our 2 hour delay class schedule. https://www.ptsd.k12.pa.us/Closures-Delays.aspx
Congratulations to PTHS Senior Autumn Cox who was recognized by Western Area Career and Technology Center!
School Resource Officer Jim Stevick visited the Personal Wellness Classes at PTHS today to talk with the students about his role in safety both at school and in our community. He also talked with them about making positive choices and the consequences that can happen if they do not. Glad to have you as part of our team, Officer Stevick!
Congratulations to the Peters Township High School Mock Trial Team! The team competed in the annual Pitt Mock Trial tournament this weekend and finished second out of 48 teams from schools across PA! This was the first time PT placed in the finals and was the best finish for a school in Washington county in the 16 year history of the tournament! A special congratulations to witness Allison O’Neil who was awarded two best witness awards on both the defense and plaintiff side of the case. #PTProud
The IT Department is currently working with PowerSchool Support to remedy a service disruption with our PowerSchool system and the PowerSchool Mobile App. Currently, parent and student accounts receive a password error when attempting to log in to the Mobile App. This issue does not appear to impact the District’s PowerSchool web portal. While we work with support, please use the PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal from the PTSD PowerSchool Information page. We will send an upd...ate when the issue has been resolved. https://www.ptsd.k12.pa.us/powerschool.aspx

Lunch was a success in the new High School!
Loving these kind girls welcoming their classmates and teachers back to PV today! What a great way to start back to school!
Wow!! Just, wow! In addition to the funds that have been raised for the Finleyville Food Pantry, food donations are still pouring in! Thank you to all who have donated - and a special shout out to Wano Chiropractic who held an office collection for the effort as well! Donations will continue to be accepted through Monday at noon outside PTMS. #PTProud
Throughout the fall, PTHS’s Room 100 a capella group has been working to safely share their musical talents with our school and community. Click on the link to view their latest video. Many thanks to Mr. Ryan Perrotte and our talented students for all their hard work on this production! Please note that during the taping of the video, physical distancing was greater than 6 feet and the live singing scenes were all lip-synced to match each student’s virtual choir audio file that was pre-recorded in their homes. During outdoor filming sessions, students were unmasked for short periods of time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Osv9hUKkj6I&feature=youtu.be
Reminder - Today's PTHS tours have been postponed. They will now take place on January 18th!
We hope that you enjoyed a restful and safe holiday season. Our scheduled Winter Break ends on January 6th and we are looking forward to welcoming our students back to school on January 7th. Grades K-8: For students in kindergarten through 8th grade, classes will resume on Thursday, January 7th for both in-person and remote students. We remind all families and students who are returning to the buildings that strict adherence to our safety plans is more important than ever as... we all work together to keep our schools open for in-person learning. Grades 9-12: Over the Winter Break our staff undertook the monumental task of moving out of the current High School into the New High School. The move was successful and achieved ahead of schedule. While we always knew that minor work would continue on some areas of the building even with school in session, it was recently confirmed by our General Contractor that welcoming students into the New High School must be postponed briefly due to delivery delays on critical safety related items. At this time, in-person classes for High School students are scheduled to resume on January 19th. All students will attend classes remotely during the seven (7) school day occupancy delay. Additional information will be shared this week regarding rescheduling student tours. We are all disappointed by this brief delay, but we know that our new school will be worth the wait. Take a look at the history of the project and a sneak peek at what awaits our students later this month! https://spark.adobe.com/video/3cnvxO3dHR6Um
Students tours for the new High School will take place on January 6th. Watch parent and student emails for more details!
This is the last weekend for financial contributions! Food may be dropped off at the boxes outside of PTMS until Dec 14th! Thank you PT for making this holiday special for so many! https://www.facebook.com/donate/672120876795559/2778493565800485/
Third grade students in Mrs. Williams' class at Pleasant Valley are taking an in-depth look at George Washington during their reading time. So in-depth, in fact, that one student showed up on his zoom reading group today as George himself! Well done, Connor, er... George. Well done!
