Love it or hate it, running is good for the soul. This was evident by the overwhelming number of team members who participated in our annual Ivy virtual 5k. Colleagues from all over the country trained, ran, and then took a selfie so we could all give them a virtual pat on the back and share in their joy. These are just a few of the many photos we received from teammates - we wish we could share them all! Congratulations to each and every person who participated this year. Some were seasoned athletes while others were first time racers. At the end of the day, we're so proud of you all! #oneivy

When her patient was cleared to return to volunteering after his rotator cuff repair, Jessica figured there was no better way to celebrate than to join him! Together, they helped make over 500 sandwiches at The Community FoodBank of New Jersey in Hillside! Thank you Jessica, for serving others. We're honored to have you on our team! . .... . . . #serveothers #hillsidenj #foodbank #feedingamerica See more

Roger Avecillas comes from an Ecuadorian background, where serving others was instilled at a young age. Through our HS Outreach Program he met Asmaa, a student who was sidelined with a wrestling injury that left her researching rehab methods to aid in healing - but on her own, she could only get so far. Even though these two come from very different backgrounds, they were both accepting when the right doors were open for them. You see, sometimes in life we’re given rare opportunities but our fate is often determined by our level of recognition and what we choose to do with those special moments. For Roger and Asmaa, this is where the story begins. https://www.ivyrehab.com//in-a-community-where-everyone-b/

Hands are a vital part of our lives - allowing us to touch loved ones, write letters, and open doors. As we recognize Hand Therapy Week, we're reminded of our time spent building prosthetic hands with Hands of Gratitude. We were so touched to hear the stories of individuals whose lives would change for the better once they received a prosthetic hand that we had helped build. To all of our hand therapists, thank you for your commitment to our field and for the work you do for others. This week, we celebrate you. https://www.ivyrehab.com//ivy-rehab-partners-with-hands-o/

Little Steps Pediatric Therapy, an Ivy Rehab Network Partner, has opened a new pediatric clinic in Park Ridge, Illinois. I am thrilled to be opening this clinic in Park Ridge to better serve the community here. I couldn’t be happier to bring a Little Steps location closer to so many of our families, and allow our outreach and growth to help the whole community, said Erin Frazier, MS OTR/L. I look forward to working alongside a wonderful team of therapists and working with physicians and families to help all of our kiddos meet their goals. A rehabilitation team is a group of professionals who assist following an injury, a hospitalization, or surrounding a surgical procedure. This team is made up of both occupational therapists and physical therapists, who work jointly to help individuals improve independence, regain abilities to engage in regular daily activities, and make modifications to self or environment in order to maximize safety. A patient receiving physical or occupational therapy treatment may not ...recognize which type of therapist is treating them, which is why there can be confusion at times between the two professions. This is often because the end goal of these two professions is so similar: to return the patient to the highest level of function in the safest environment possible. Both physical and occupational therapists cater treatment to the specific needs of a patient but have a different lens by which a patient is viewed. #oneivy #physicaltherapy #occupationaltherapy

It's wonderful to be able to safely get back out in the community and share what we love to do, as noted by Chelsea and Zachary, who spent the afternoon representing Ivy Rehab to the 55+ population in Charlotte, NC. Thank you for allowing us to participate, Thrive Outside MicroExpo. It feels good to get out! . .... . . . #CharlotteNC #CharlotteNCevents #charlottephysicaltherapy #charlottephysicaltherapist See more

Jim Fagnani PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, CFCE Regional Director at Ivy Rehab on developing leaders. Keep developing yourself and the people around you. It’s really no difference than what we do as therapists. Really nothing changes l that much.. you are just developing people instead of rehabbing injuries. We are actually perfectly positioned to understand what motivates people- what they want to do, how they want to do it because that’s what we do everyday...putting people in a pos...ition to work with what they are passionate about, and giving them the tools and resources to get there.. then standing back. My Takeaways Being a Leader is a continuous process of sharpening your sword. Can’t put people in a microwave- developing leaders takes time and is a process. Connecting key performance indicators to quality care yields optimal results. Move to partner with Ivy Rehab was done to create opportunities for all parties involved especially current and prospective PTs. Secured a list of books to read for the next several years. #physicaltherapy #leadership #leader #business #kpi #performance #process #football #qualitycare #workethic #cscs #partner #motivation #drive #passion #sportsmedicine #newtownsquare #mainline #podcast
