Operation Christmas Child Announcement: Please make sure that you clean toys before bringing them to the church. OCC requests new, unused toys; so please keep everything clean and as new as possible.

Members and Friends of SMBC. Our speaker for this week, Mr. Luff, is from out of state (SC). He is traveling here with his wife and six month old son. He and his wife are being very cautious because of the virus. We, the elders, are asking you especially this Sunday to please, if at all possible, wear your mask and try to practice social distancing. We are aware that some of you have great difficulty wearing them and that is fine; but if you can, please do. Once we are seated... in our pews and the service starts you may remove them to be able to sing and worship the Lord. One last thing, if you are ill or have been around someone who has been, please stay home as a precaution. This is something we asked you to do when we first started having services again. We are asking these things as a courtesy for our speaker and his family and also for the safety of all who attend our services. A final update on Andy Atkins for those who have been praying, "Dear Friends, Thank you again for the outpouring of love and support in these days. Andy passed away peacefully this afternoon at Sunnybrook Hospital with the sun streaming in the window. Angelica and I got to be by his side in his final moments. He received such kind and gentle care at Sunnybrook. He was never alone.... Each of his children got to say goodbye to him. He is dearly loved and remembered by people from many tribes, nations, and tongues. He had a heart for Justice and Shalom. Now he gets to rest and enjoy God’s perfect peace forever. an update on Andy Atkins for those who have been praying "Dear friends, Thank you for the amazing outpouring of love, concern, prayers, and support we have received from around the world. We are so grateful.... Andy’s condition has deteriorated and he is now on a ventilator. However, he is still receiving medication and treatment for his multiple illnesses in hopes of recovery. We have already experienced so many answers to prayer: I was able to have some time with Andy before his transfer to Critical Care. Caleb and Angelica were able to see him and communicate with him. Josiah is arriving from Kansas today. Thank you for your continued prayers. Much love, Judy for the Atkins family"

We are asking for prayer today for Andy Atkins in the following message by his wife. "Good afternoon, This is Judy emailing from Andy’s computer.... Last week Andy was taken to hospital seriously ill. He has been admitted to Sunnybrook in Toronto (where he has been treated for leukemia since 2006). Today his oncologist let us know test results so far. Andy is fighting invasive infection (Aspergillosis) and latent Tuberculosis in addition to his cancer. We are so grateful to be covered and carried in prayer by friends around the world. Please continue to pray. He has come back from the edge many times. My prayer is that we have one more season of being able to see the people and places that he loves. Please pray that I would be allowed to see him, even though COVID restrictions don’t allow visitors at this time. Right now he is in isolation fighting for his life.
