SAM IS STILL MISSING! (610) 945-4971 We are currently working with Chester and Montgomery County Pet Search to bring her home. Please, please, please help me an...d my family by spreading the word: We have been ordered to take our signs down in Lower Salford Township (Harleysville, PA). Please share and let folks know that Sam is still missing, even though the signs are being taken down. We have had very recent sightings between Evansburg State Park and Towamencin. A little background on Sam, why the signs have been up for so long, and why we were hoping to leave them up as the weather turns colder, trees lose leaves and visibility into the woods and fields increases - Sam had a rough start to life. She was likely abused and then she was dumped in a huge state park in Texas where she survived living out in the woods for quite some time in much rougher, hotter, and bleaker conditions than we have here in Harleysville/Skippack/Schwenksville. We are not naive and very clearly realize that we may not find our loved one and that our signs cannot stay up forever. For now, we still hold hope that she once again may be surviving out in the woods somewhere, and that the cold weather and increased visibility might help us find her. However, we have to take our signs down because of complaints from fellow residents. Sam strutted up to us in that state park in Texas like she had chosen us to be the people she trusted. She came into my life when I was struggling the most and losing my sense of direction and belonging. Working with her, training her, and helping her trust that people can be kind and gentle was somehow exactly what I needed to heal too. We don’t have much control over this horrible situation, and the control we did have is being taken away. Please know that what may be an annoyance to some (signs on telephone poles that you are speeding by) represents a trauma that we are trying to work through as best we can. I just need to know that at the end of the day, we did everything we could. I AM BEGGING YOU - if you see a tan creature with big ears that is too big to be a fox and too small to be a deer running around, PLEASE take an extra moment to look out for Sam. And then please take extra time to find my contact information and call ASAP. Thank you so so much to everyone who has been supportive through all of this; it’s hard to keep sight of it - but the goodness and kindness of people in this time has certainly outweighed the bad.
